Clinical Coding: Draft 1 Consultation – Open
SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Technicians Support Services Industry Reference Committee (IRC), has undertaken a project to develop a new entry-level Clinical Coding qualification and eight new Clinical Coding Units of Competency and to update three existing Clinical Coding Units of Competency to ensure that entry-level clinical coders have access to appropriate skills and knowledge, in order to meet the current and future needs of the Australian health care system.
A widespread multi-channel consultation involving a broad range of stakeholders is now being conducted to address concerns raised in previous consultations and discussions around the Clinical Coding qualification, Clinical Coding Units and their content.
Consultation on Draft 1 commenced on Monday, 4 November and will close at 5.00pm on Monday, 2 December 2019.
