Project: Provide subject matter expertise to assist in the update of the CHC42215 Certificate IV in Social Housing.
SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Community Sector and Development Industry Reference Committee (IRC), is seeking nominations for a Social Housing Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC will consist of members who represent the social housing and homelessness sector, training providers and associations.
The objective of this TAC will be to identify skills gaps in the social housing sector and to identify the importance of issues such as family violence, dealing with people from diverse backgrounds (including CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and supporting homeless people. This information will then be used to guide the update the CHC42215 Certificate IV in Social Housing qualification.
The TAC will identify the challenges and opportunities that the sector is currently experiencing which are impacting on workforce skill requirements, including:
- Government initiatives to combat housing affordability and homelessness, and
- Critical cultural competency skills required.
This project will ensure that the social housing sector is supported by a high quality trained and skilled workforce. The contribution of the TAC will ensure that the outcomes of this project enable access to training that will support the sector to improve efficiencies in operations, but also maximise the sector’s interaction with people from diverse backgrounds to ensure that they receive the most appropriate service possible.
Expressions of Interest for this TAC close at 5.00pm on Monday 15 October 2018.
