Pilot program launched to
boost traineeship enrolments |
The Department of
Training & Workforce Development has agreed to the reduction
in eligibility hours
for part-time traineeships in the Aged Care, Disability and Community
Care sectors as the result of a joint approach by the Community Services,
Health & Education Training Council, National
Disability Services, Aged & Community Services WA and
CommunityWest.
The eligibility
limit for enrolments in part-time traineeships has restricted access to
the staff from these
three sectors where part-time hours are standard, and many
staff work less than
the 20 hours minimum previously required.
To celebrate this
long sought reduction the four Peaks, together with Nulsen, hosted
a special Breakfast Launch of the project by the Minister for
Training, the Hon Peter Collier, MLC to herald
the start of the two year ‘proof of concept’ trial
project that is expected to lead to a big increase in the numbers of
enrolments for traineeships in these sectors.......click
